Prairie Dropseed
Sporobolos heterolepis. A long-lived tussock-forming grass, prairie dropseed will tolerate medium wet to dry conditions, full to partial sun, and grow up to 2’ tall. Very light, airy panicles on flowering stems, and it has a nice scent from glands at the base of the branches. Found throughout Western and Southern MN.
